The Denver Broncos and the Carolina Panthers are headed to  Super Bowl 50, after scoring contrasting wins against their opponents on Sunday. In a nail biting finish, the Broncos — led by Peyton Manning, defeated the New England Patriots 20 – 18 to win the AFC crown, and their  8th appearance in the Super Bowl

In contrast the Carolina Panthers in a ruthless display, disposed of the Arizona Cardinals 49 to 15 to win the NFC championship and their second  Super  Bowl appearance.. The match up between the Patriot’s Tom Brady and the Broncos led Peyton Manning was intriguing and tense throughout . Brady was given little room by a tight Broncos defense which sacked him 4 times. He also endured several hard body blows which disrupted his rhythm and obvious game plan. For the Brancos, the win mean that they  are headed to the Super Bowl for the second time in 4 years.

The game between the Cardinals and the Panthers turned out as a one sided affair. The Cardinals committed 7 turnovers and were never able to recover from such devastation. Quarter Back Cam Newton was brilliant on a day when nothing seem to go right for the Cardinals, as he set a number of records with the win.

It will be the second Super Bowl appearance for the Panhers. This year’s event takes place at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara California on February 7th
