BELGIUM,BRUSSELS: — Thirtyfive people were killed and more than 200 others left injured following a terrorist attack on the Belgium Airport and a metro transportation station this morning (Tuesday March 22).

Belgium authorities later confirmed that the attack was the result of a suicide attack. The terror group ISIS,also claimed responsibility for the attacks. Authorities closed the airport and shut down operations at the metro station.

Speaking in a Televised address Belgium’s prime minister Charles Michel  described the attacks as “blind and coward.” He urged Belgians to be” calm and united, ” in face of one of the most devastating attacks on Belgian soil. Security was increased across the country as authorities began the task of hunting down the perpetrators.

In Cuba United States (US) president Barack Obama, on a visit to the communist Island issued a strong condemnation of the attacks. He declared that the United States “will provide all the necessary support to help  find those responsible for this act.”
