CALIFORNIA, SUN. MARCH 6,2016 :- Former first lady Nancy Reagan died here this morning from congestive heart failure. Reagan who was 94 years old will be buried beside her husband at the Ronald Reagan presidential library here.
As news of her death spread throughout the day, thousands of tributes poured in. President Obama and current first lady Michelle Obama led the tributes with one of their own. A beloved figure, Nancy Reagan was credited with being an influential figure in her husband’s two term stay in the White House. A breast cancer survivor, Nancy Reagan devoted her life to cell stem research in an effort to find a cure for diseases such as Alzheimer which afflicted her husband.She backed president Obama who, soon after taking office, signed legislation for the research to be carried out.
His predecessor president George W. Bush had previously backed away from signing a similar order. The former first lady also spent considerable time on bringing awareness to drug abuse causes.
