Santa Clara Cali. :– The Denver Broncos defeated the Carolina Panthers 24 – 10 to win Super Bowl 50 here Sunday (Feby. 7)
Led by veteran Quarter Back (QB) Peyton Manning the Boncos took an early 10 – 0 lead which they never relinquished. The win was the second Super Bowl win for Manning enabling him to become only the second QB in Super Bowl history to achieve the feat playing for two different teams.
He joined Van Brocklin who ended his career with the Philadelphia Eagles in 1960. Prior to Sunday’s game many pundits predicted that it might be Manning’s final appearance. The (Old Man), — as he is sometimes referred to — gave no hint of his future plans when asked by a CBS reporter after the game. “I’ll take some time to reflect. I got a couple of priorities first,” he said. For Cam Newton,(The Carolina QB) and his team, the loss was painful. They had played great Football all season. Sunday, when it mattered most was just not their time. For his outstanding performance, Von Miller the Broncos linebacker was declared MVP.
