MULTIPLE INJURIES; FATALITIES REPORTED AT FLORIDA SCHOOL SHOOTING

Parkland, Florida  (BGM) :- Law Enforcement  authorities are reporting multiple injuries and fatalities during a shooting incident at  Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School here this afternoon.

The incident occurred shortly after 2 p.m. Early reports point to a former student as the shooter and police sources say that he has so far been taken into custody. Initial reports from the Broward County Sheriff’s department and Broward Superintendent of school’s office tell of “multiple victims,” at the school.

Sources and law enforcement officers confirmed that at least two people have been killed in the latest school shooting in the United States, while at least 15 have been taken to local area hospitals.

Law enforcement agents including local police and the FBI as well as Emergency responders were early on the scene and quickly began evacuating students.The school had just completed a fire drill when students and staff members in one of the school’s many buildings reported hearing gunshots. The school has a population of around 3,000.

Many quickly took refuge in Bath rooms, under desks and tables or “just about anywhere that seemed safe,” according to one student. President Trump who was informed about the incident condemned the shooting saying no child should have to go through this in any school in America.

Florida senator Bill Nelson told CNN in an interview that “this is a bad day for Florida.” He said that he has been told that “there are multiple fatalities as a result of the shooting. In a brief press briefing Broward county school Superintendent Robert Runcie said the incident “has us left concerned in shock.” “Our prayers are with all concerned at this time,” he added.
