PROTESTS BRING DOWN ROMANIAN GOVERNMENT

Friday. (Oct. 30) according to the British Broadcasting Corporation BBC and
the Associated Press (AP) “I am handing in my mandate,I’m resigning, and implicitly my government,” the prime minister is quoted as saying in a statement. Added Ponta: ” I am obliged to take note of the legitimate grievances which exist in the society.” “I hope by handing in my and my government’s mandate it will satisfy the demands of the protesters.”

Protesters blamed authorities for not ensuring adequate security at the club
where the fire broke out during a concert. Reports say about 400 people tried to escape the inferno through a single exit. Thirty two people were reported to have died while a further 130 remain in hospital, some in serious and critical conditions.
