Billionaire republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, Thursday signed his party’s
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE, not to mount a third party bid if he loses the GOP nomination. Trump who has been leading the GOP field of 17 candidates, signed the document after
a brief meeting with the chairman of the Republican National Committee Reince Priebus.
That meeting took place in New York Thursday. While the pledge is not binding,Trump told a press conference he “Sees no circumstances under which I will tear up that pledge.” Republicans have been worried that Trump could decide on a third party run, if he were not the nominee. He took several questions at the news conference. Among them were his stance on illegal immigration, campaign money, the Tom Brady issue, Trade Chain and Japan and what he perceives as attacks by rival candidate Jeb Bush,
Latest opinion polls put Trump at 30 per cent among Republican voters ahead of Dr.Ben
Carson at 18 percent and Bush at 8 percent. Trump made it clear that he got nothing from the RNC in order to sign the pledge,”except assurances that I will be treated fairly.”
