Billionaire Investor Donald Trump continues to dominate the Republican (GOP) primary contest, winning the Nevada caucuses by an almost 2 to 1 margin against his nearest rival last night.
With almost all precincts (96 %) reporting, Trump had 49.9% of the votes. Senator Marco Rubio was in second place with 23.8% followed by senator Ted Cruz with 21.4%. The results mirrors last week’s South Carolina primary which was also won by Trump, followed by Rubio and Cruz.
Trump has now won 3 of the 4 republican primary contests following his win in New Hampshire two weeks ago. With most polls showing him ahead in states which will vote on super Tuesday — March 1— many are now wondering what it will take to halt Trump’s momentum.
Trump seems to have won across all demographics including the black and Hispanic votes in the Nevada Tuesday’s Nevada results has still left Rubio searching for his first win, while Dr.Ben Carson with 4.8% of the vote and Governor John Kasich with 3.6% continue to struggle.
